OUR TESTIMONIALS
What Our Alumni Have to Say!

The Educational Curriculum far Exceeded any Expectations
"The Western College of Remedial Massage Therapies caught my attention the first few days of starting the program. Upon entering massage school, I wasn't sure what to expect - of course learning the massage techniques - but, at Western College, the educational curriculum far exceeded any expectations I had for what a massage curriculum entailed. As students, we went on to learn not only massage techniques, but also numerous other assessment tools (i.e., screening tests, joint assessments). After completing the program, I have realized how useful this is for practicing therapists, as numerous clients come in to see you looking to have this ‘pain’ or ‘issue’ fixed. Too, the content is taught by instructors who have not only been teaching for multiple years, but also have years of experience of being massage therapists themselves. Thus, the curriculum was taught in a very thorough, understandable manner that left me feeling confident in practicing my skills along the way. Additionally, the instructors are also extremely friendly, and countless times extended a helping hand if students needed - scheduling a meeting in-person, phone call sessions, or sending emails to help with any questions we had. Overall, I feel much more confident in my assessment skills, ability to help individuals lessen their pain/discomfort, and provide successful treatments due to the great curriculum and instructors at the Western College."

Very Happy That I Chose WCRMT
"I enrolled in the DE program for massage therapy at the school and even as a full time working mom, I successfully completed my first year of massage school. One more year to go. Very knowledgeable instructors with a warm and friendly environment. I am very happy that I chose WCRMT!"

This is a Great School
"I just finished my DE program, This is a great school, I loved my time here and all the teachers, they all know their stuff so well, they make you want to learn <3, I feel they are very professional, and a joke or two to lighten the mood of people feeling unsure of themselves should always be welcomed. :)"

Beneficial Challenges and Learning Experiences
"I attended my first year in the full time program at WCRMT during the 2021 -2022 School year. It was amazing. I found the challenges and learning experience as very beneficial, not only in knowledge, massage technique, and helping people heal, but also in the personal and spiritual growth of my own life. I am enjoying the vast wealth of knowledge in all the WCRMT teachers and find myself absorbing an immense amount of their wisdom. I know that I have made the right choice in attending WCRMT and look forward to my year two studies."
James DionneFulfilling Experience

Oscar LopezComing from another school
"I am so honored to be a graduate of Western College of Remedial Massage Therapies Inc. I have completed my year 1 from a different school here in Regina and because of time constraints and scheduling, I had to look for a program that will best fit my needs. I can never be thankful enough that I got accepted for my Year 2 at WCRMT. I think the biggest strength of the school is the fact that the school has a seasoned instructor ,Michael, who does not only focus on the theory part but also makes sure that the student understands how to translate it into actual practice. Because of his approachability and very calm and respecting behavior, I have never had any reasons to be ashamed to ask questions or clarify any topics that are quite confusing to me. He is very knowledgeable and you can see that he is passionate in teaching the students and making sure each graduate is equipped with that passion as well. Every graduate can attest how knowledgeable the instructors are, especially Michael and everyone has the highest respect for them. Something that I do not see anywhere else, honestly. With my nursing background , I was amazed at how I appreciated the topics that were introduced to me. I was able to understand it more especially during practical. I am also very grateful because they work with their students in how to better schedule practicum hours as some of us have other full-time responsibilities. I believe that with WCRMT's long standing experience and a long list of skilled graduates and practicing RMT's , enrolling with them is the best way to go. This is the best investment decision I have done in my RMT journey. If there is anything that I regret in my RMT journey, it is the fact that I did not enroll with WCRMT in my year 1."
Dwight AglosolosAmazing Experience
"I had an amazing experience as a student of WCRMT. From the moment I walked into the building I knew I was meant to be there. The instructors are all Massage Therapists which is great because they are knowledgeable about what a person will find out in practice. Each instructor had their different ways of teaching, which sometimes you liked more than others but over all they were all great at their job. The course was not easy, you really had to put in the effort in order to achieve greatness. I feel like my education was outstanding and I am proud to say I am a graduate of Western College. Any student that came through these doors was held to a standard and we all had to work hard to achieve that. Those that didn't, fell short."
Jessica SwansonExcellent and Thorough Education
"I graduated from Western College of Remedial Massage Therapies in 2018 and my experience of the school was nothing short of spectacular. I received an excellent and thorough education. My instructors were extremely well educated and amazing at taking the time to answer every question thoroughly. I’m grateful that, as a mature student, the curriculum was delivered to me in compact and efficient manner leaving me with plenty of time to fulfill my other life responsibilities. If you are considering massage therapy as a career I highly recommend WCRMT."

Stacy Sigfusson- When are Massage Therapists going to be regulated in Saskatchewan? The process of application began in 1993. Through attempts in amalgamation and various lobbying the industry has been trying to become a legislated health profession for many years. As of late application for an Act had its first reading in the legislature. Saskatchewan may join the other 5 provinces in Canada in the next few years Until then, Massage Therapists in Saskatchewan enjoy many, if not all the benefits of a regulated profession through the efforts of the founding fathers of our school. Abe Reimer and Don Bennett were instrumental in acquiring recognition and third party paying from institutions like SGI, Workers Compensation Board and many Private Insurers for coverage of massage back in the 1980’s. This occurred in part, due to the quality of the program and graduates coming from our school. Massage Therapists in Saskatchewan are among the highest paid for service in the country.
- Are Western College graduates recognized?Western College of Remedial Massage Therapies is an approved Category One private vocational school continually registered since 1986 with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education. The following are some of the local associations recognizing our graduates.
- Massage Therapist Association of Alberta
- Massage Therapist Association of Saskatchewan
- L.C.S.P. Canadian Branch
- Natural Health Practitioners of Canada
- Becoming a Registered Massage Therapist in Saskatchewan? In order to obtain the designation of Registered Massage Therapist, you will need to join a massage therapy association to acquire a registration/billing number. The typical standard required for membership with an association is still to complete 2200 hours of educational massage therapy training. Slowly through accreditation, massage therapy associations are recognizing competency rather than mere quantification of hours. Completing your training with a recognized institution will allow you to join an association, obtain professional liability and malpractice insurance, and practice as a Registered Massage Therapist.
